Tommy Lee has been sued for an alleged sexual assault that took place in a helicopter in 2003. The plaintiff claims that the Mötley Crüe drummer forced himself onto her in the cockpit during a 40-minute trip from San Diego to Van Nuys, California.
In the lawsuit, filed Friday (December 15th) in Los Angeles and obtained by Rolling Stone and The Blast, the unnamed woman, who worked as a bank teller in San Diego at the time, said she had struck up a friendship with a pilot by the name of David Martz. He invited her to take a ride in his helicopter, and she eventually agreed despite being initially hesitant. On the day she arrived for the helicopter ride in early 2003, Martz told her they would be joined by Lee.
Once the helicopter was up in the air, the woman alleges that both Martz and Lee started to drink alcohol, smoke marijuana, and snort cocaine. She claims she didn’t partake in the drugs or alcohol, but was pressured to enter the cockpit and sit on Lee’s lap to get a better view. The plaintiff then says in the suit that Lee started “forcibly groping, kissing and penetrating her with his fingers, and attempting to force her to perform oral copulation.”
According to the lawsuit, “At one point, Lee penetrated plaintiff with his fingers while fondling her breasts. Lee then pulled down his pants and attempted to force plaintiff’s head toward his genitals. By this point, plaintiff was in tears, but she had nowhere to go — she was trapped with little mobility to leave the cockpit.”
She claims that Martz “merely watched” the alleged assault before they eventually dropped Lee off in Van Nuys, and flew back “in silence” to San Diego.
