Wilco is an American alternative rock band that was formed in 1994 in Chicago, Illinois. The band was founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Jeff Tweedy after the dissolution of his previous group, Uncle Tupelo.
The original lineup of Wilco consisted of Jeff Tweedy, bassist John Stirratt, and drummer Ken Coomer.
