We tallied the nominations for our Hometowns of Consequence campaign to narrow down the 1,300 submitted venues to our 20 regional finalists. With four finalists in each of the five regions, we’re now putting the spotlight on these cherished institutions. After highlighting the Southeast and Northeast finalists, we’re trekking out to the opposite coast for our West finalists: Oregon’s The Get Down, Seattle’s The Crocodile, San Diego’s The Casbah, and Los Angeles’ The Troubadour.
We sent each venue a Q&A and asked them to put forth different staff members to provide their responses; in addition to highlighting these historic and eclectic venues, we want to showcase the people working at all levels behind the scenes that help keep these spaces thriving.
Voting for our Hometowns of Consequence winners continues through October 21st, and the winners are to be announced in the weeks thereafter.
