As promised, Porno for Pyros have unleashed their first new song in 26 years. The track, titled “Agua,” serves as the first single off an upcoming EP, set for release in early 2024.
While “Agua” is new for fans, the song was originally written during sessions for the band’s 1996 album, Good God’s Urge, but was never properly recorded at the time. The band’s reunited classic lineup — Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins, Peter DiStefano, and Martyn LeNoble — hit the studio recently to record the song, along with other new tunes slated for the EP.
Farrell said of the track, “The people who live here on the West Coast have a beautiful love and passion for the Pacific Ocean. The ocean doesn’t look right, doesn’t feel right, doesn’t surf right. You go and swim in it, and you get the creeps. The sunsets are different. We are really, really screwing it up. We have to do something about it. I wanted to bring attention to it through the best megaphone that I know, which is music.”
The new song, which was teased last week, follows Wednesday’s announcement that Porno for Pyros will embark on a farewell tour in 2024. The US outing kicks off February 13th in Santa Ana, California, and runs through a March 10th show in Montclair, New Jersey, with tickets available here.

If the 2024 jaunt is indeed Porno for Pyros’ final outing, it will mean that the band’s reunion was relatively short-lived. They reunited last year to play some festival gigs when Farrell and Perkins’ main band Jane’s Addiction had to bow out due to guitarist Dave Navarro’s battle with long COVID. They also performed a couple of club shows in Los Angeles and Chicago.
