Kendrick Lamar will perform at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda on December 6th, 2023 as the first-ever headliner for Move Afrika: Rwanda, a new touring project organized by Global Citizen and Lamar’s creative imprint pgLang.

Move Afrika: A Global Citizen Experience aims to bring job opportunities to Africa by introducing a live music touring circuit to the continent. In addition to stimulating the local economy with gigs for local artists and crews, the shows will highlight Global Citizen’s mission of eradicating poverty and bringing awareness to women and girls’ health, the climate crisis, food security, and more. Rwanda will host the shows for the next five years, with additional countries to be added to the touring schedule every year. The organization aims to expand to five countries by 2025.

In addition to a performance from Kendrick, more regional artists will be announced for the December 6th bill. Grab tickets to the event through the Global Citizen website.

Kendrick’s last album was 2022’s Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. Since then, he’s teamed with Baby Keem for the track “The Hillbillies,” helped Beyoncé out with a remix of “America Has a Problem,” and re-recorded his verse from “Bad Blood” for 1989 (Taylor’s Version). Later this month, he’ll perform at Camp Flog Gnaw alongside Tyler, the Creator, SZA, Clipse, and more. Tickets are on sale here.
