boygenius recently stopped by BBC Radio 1, where the supergroup of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker performed a gorgeous cover of Shania Twain’s smash hit “You’re Still the One.” Watch it below.
Each member of the trio took their turn on lead vocals while wearing matching black jackets. Bridgers kicked off their rendition on the intro and first verse before being joined by her bandmates on the chorus. Then, Dacus took over to sing the second verse and pre-chorus, with the group once again coming together for the chorus. Not to be left out, Baker took the lead on the final go-around of the chorus.
Earlier this year, boygenius dropped their first full-length, the record. One of Consequence’s best albums of 2023, it helped the act land seven Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for “Not Strong Enough.” Unfortunately, we missed out on hearing Dave Grohl on the project because he “slept through” their scheduled meeting.
Meanwhile, Twain is set to kick off a Las Vegas residency in May 2024 after releasing her latest album, Queen of Me, this past February. Grab your tickets here.
