Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that he has to undergo yet another surgery due to the injuries he sustained in a 2019 fall and a 2003 ATV accident. He is also slated to get an epidural injection to relieve the pain he is currently experiencing.
It’s been a rough go of it for Ozzy over the past four years in particular. In 2019, he suffered a significant fall at home, dislodging metal rods that were inserted into his body after he famously flipped over in an ATV in 2003. On top of that, he continues to battle Parkinson’s disease.
In the return of episode of The Osbournes Podcast (watch below), which premiered on Tuesday (September 12th), the metal icon offered an update on his health, revealing that he set to undergo his fourth significant surgery related to his structural damage, including a major neck operation last year.
“My lower back is … I’m going for an epidural soon because what’s happening, what they’ve discovered is the neck has been fixed, below the neck there’s two vertebrae where the bike hit me and disintegrated, there’s nothing left of ’em,” said Ozzy on the podcast.
“All I know is right now, I’m in a lot of pain, I’m in a lot of discomfort,” he continued, adding, “In my back, the two discs and the muscles on my shoulders have separated from my skeleton, and that’s why I lean forward as it’s like gravity is bringing my head forward.”
Osbourne recently had to bow out of the upcoming Power Trip festival, which would have seen him playing on an iconic bill alongside AC/DC, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and Tool. He has been replaced by Judas Priest at the three-day event, set for October 6th-8th in Indio, California.
