Peter Hook & The Light have announced a massive 2024 tour across North America, the UK, and Ireland, during which they will play the Substance albums by Hook’s former bands Joy Division and New Order in full.
After playing previously announced 2024 dates in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, Peter Hook & The Light will kick off the 35-city run on August 31st in Toronto. The North American leg will also feature shows in New York City, Chicago, Austin, Los Angeles, Seattle, and more before the band heads over to the UK and Ireland for dates in Glasgow, Cardiff, Belfast, Dublin, and more. New Order and Joy Division separately released their Substance albums in 1987 and 1988, respectively, with both records serving as singles compilations. “It still amazes me how enjoyable it is to play the Substance LPs,” Hook said in a statement. “The contrast between Joy Division and New Order is very apparent but both complement each other very well.”
