    In a week of ups and downs, The Pogues’ Shane MacGowan tragically passed away at the age of 65. After being fried from his father’s band, Roger Waters’ son joined a Pink Floyd tribute act. Phish has been revealed as the latest artists to have a residency at the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas, while Dolly Parton came out blazing during a Thanksgiving NFL halftime performance.. Finally, we got our first look at the film Furiosa, with a trailer being released.

    Shane MacGowan, Pogues Singer, Dead at 65 — Punk legend and vocalist of The Pogues Shane MacGowan has died at the age of 65 of pneumonia. His death follows a long period of health issues, including suffering from viral encephalitis earlier in the year and being hospitalized in recent weeks. He passed in his sleep while surrounded by his wife and his family. The hard-drinking and heavy-smoking singer is succeeded by his wife, Victoria. Many celebrities paid tribute to the late icon, while Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, who recently covered “Fairytale of New York” with his brother/Taylor Swift’s sweetie Travis, delivered a statement exclusively to Consequence.

    Roger Waters’ Son Playing Gigs with Pink Floyd Tribute Band — Since his dismissal from Roger Waters’ touring band in late 2016, Waters’ son Harry has performed with a tribute band called Brit Floyd. Harry played keyboard for his father for 14 years, and was “pretty miserable” after being fired. Since he was let go, he has toured with Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, along with the three shows he sat in on with the aforementioned Pink Floyd tribute act.

    Phish Announce Residency at MSG Sphere in Las Vegas — As legendary band U2’s Las Vegas residency rages on, the next performers for the $2.3 billion Sphere stage has been revealed to be Phish. The jam band will perform at the venue for four straight days in April 2024, with each show featuring unique visuals and a distinct setlist. There is a ticketing request period open now through December 11th, with remaining tickets going on sale December 15th at 10:00 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster.

    Dolly Parton Performs at Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving Halftime — During the Dallas Cowboys’ Thanksgiving game agains the Washington Commanders, legendary singer and Consequence cover star Dolly Parton came out dressed as a Cowboys cheerleader to perform a handful of tracks. This included her classics “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” as well as two covers from her new album, Rockstar. Not without her detractors, people took exception to the outfit, stating that she was too old to be dressed that way. Her younger sister took to X to defend her, with a scathing tweet calling out anyone attempting to shame Dolly.

    First Trailer for Upcoming Film Furiosa Released — After a very short eight-year wait, the first trailer for the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel has finally been released. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, starring Anya Taylor-Joy as the titular character, was written by George Miller and Nico Lathouris, and also stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, and more. The film is set to be released May 24th, 2024.
